Hey Nikki -- Thanks for bringing this up. Sorry that you're cranky :-(. I've passed this onto the product team and will get some feedback from you ASAP.

    Thanks,

    - Michael

    Hi Nikki,

I finally got down to the bottom of this issue. It looks like this was a feature that was put in a few months ago where people who were using the RSS wanted to grab forums and discussions but didn't want the clutter of all the replies (optimization-wise it also speeds up the feeds dramatically).

Currently in feed builder you can choose to display all new posts from all forums, all new posts from a specific forum, or posts and replies from a specific thread inside a specific forum. If you want to combine them, you'll have to mash them up yourself. (I'd try Yahoo Pipes perhaps.)

Hopefully, we will have that option in the future again, but I don't see it in the current product roadmap.

I do apologize for taking so long to get back to you. It was a failure on KickApps part to not broadcast this feature change. We'll try to do a better job of this in the future.

    Best,

    Mauvis

Oh wow -- so there is no way to get a feed of all posts and replies from a specific forum now?

There is no way I can do the yahoo pipes thing if I would have to do it thread by thread. S o everytime there is a new thread I'd have to manually add that thread's feed to yahoo pipes. Snooze. That's pretty impossible if you have a hopping message board (which i don't yet, but I;m just saying).

If it was making yahoo pipes with Rss feeds forum by forum, then yeh, no real complaints here.

I get creating the option for people to not include replies in their feeds. But to remove the option of having replies in your feed just has the adverse affect. Now the folks that don't want replies in their feeds are happy but the folks who do -- and have been used to that for sometime-- are not. Maybe I'm just a lone duck here, but  that doesn't seem well thought out.

Anyway thank you for letting me know, but that really does suck and makes no sense to me. Oh well. It is what it...

Nikki I agree with you. Almost all message boards out there include replies in the RSS feed. The person who decided it was clutter was probably the same person who decided that "profile privacy" was more important than media privacy or that the entire blog entry should be included in the description of a blog. Sometimes it seems the developers of KickApps really don't use KickApps or any other social network.

    bump.

    this still annoys me.

just keeping it in your minds with hope that you might decide to add that option back.

and to my point, "bumping" this thread does not bump it to the top of the list in forum widgets for this very reason. ug.

I echo Nikki and am very disappointed that this has not been given as a viable option. It looks like there is no activity in my message board because members' replies do not show up in the feed.
